VDC/BIM for Risk Management on Mega-Projects
Tuesday, October 10
11:00 am – 12:00 pm
Due to their complexity, programs are highly susceptible to delays caused by scheduling oversight. Programs also have the greatest number of stakeholders, due to the impact they have on surrounding communities. The two most common challenges program management teams face are scheduling delays and disagreements with community stakeholders. When introduced into a program’s risk analysis and logistics constructibility process, virtual design and construction can help minimize both. This session will use examples from the Lower Manhattan Construction Command Center and Port Authority Bus Terminal to demonstrate how BIM increased a program’s scheduling and stakeholder outreach efficiency.
