What are you passionate about and how do you pursue that passion at PMA?
I am passionate about taking on challenges that take me out of my comfort zone. PMA has many opportunities that encourage me to take on these types of challenges.
What current project(s) are you working on?
Currently, I am a Project Controls Engineer on Energy Strong 2, Infrastructure Advancement Program & Open Wire Higher Standard Design at PSE&G. These programs are committed to upgrading and improving power transmission and distribution systems as well as mitigating potential power outages under emergent situations.
Who/what inspires you to push yourself? (Personal heroes, family members, ideas)
My dad taught me how to push myself while maintaining high morale to continue in the face of failure. I apply these lessons throughout many areas of my life.
What are the most positive aspects of working at PMA? Or Share your impressions of PMA’s culture.
The most positive aspect of PMA is the people that I work with. They are very open to sharing their experiences and knowledge of their previous and current projects at hand. The insight I gain from my peers is invaluable to my projects and career growth.
What is something innovative happening in your industry that makes you excited about the future?
I am seeing more technology and data driven tools being brought into construction, lidar scanning, BIM, aerial imaging, and big data management for decision-making are just a few examples. These technological advances can help improve the efficiency and success of construction planning and completion.
What university or college did you graduate from?
I earned my master’s degree in civil engineering from Iowa State University, in December of 2014.
What is your favorite local establishment/feature (restaurant, museum, stadium, etc.)?
The place I enjoy visiting most locally is Ellis Island. It is interesting to see a place that holds so much history.
Provide a fun fact or secret talent about yourself.
I am an avid badminton player and photographer. I enjoy traveling around the country to compete in badminton open tournaments.
