What are you passionate about and how do you pursue that passion at PMA?
I was fortunate to be hired by PMA to oversee FTA projects. I am truly passionate about transit projects and seeing them evolve from their start to completion. I have a true sense of accomplishment when I see projects built.
What current project(s) are you working on?
Currently I am working on the San Bernardino Redlands Passenger Rail Project; the West Valley Bus Rapid Transit Project; and the Bay Area Rapid Transit Transbay Corridor Core Capacity Project.
Who/what inspires you to push yourself?
During my earlier workdays at the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), I had managers and co-workers who supported me. That support enabled me to excel at my job overseeing the capital programs of three metropolitan agencies and to really love my work and to see my accomplishments. I was recognized by the NYSDOT for my performance and received awards. That success propelled me to the next step to become a Director of Grant Management for Metropolitan Transportation Authority of New York.
What are the most positive aspects of working at PMA? Or Share your impressions of PMA’s culture.
I have the enjoyed the collaboration and personalization I have seen at PMA. PMA encourages you to strive since it promotes a culture of quality and excellence.
What is something innovative happening in your industry that makes you excited about the future?
Since the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act was signed into law, I am hopeful to see the realization of highway and transit infrastructure improvements that are greatly needed.
What university or college did you graduate from?
I graduated from Syracuse University’s Maxell School with a Master’s in Regional Planning.
What is your favorite local establishment/feature?
My favorite pastime is to be outside, enjoying New York’s Hudson Valley, hiking, visiting historical sites, attending seasonal events, and also enjoying the beach, in particular those in coastal Maine and Cape Cod.
Provide a fun fact or secret talent about yourself.
I took six years of Latin at Boston Girls Latin School (now Boston Latin Academy, a public school). “veni, vidi, vici”
