This project involved a $115 million design and construction contract to completely demolish and rebuild a third of the Ann Arbor Wastewater Treatment Plant and renovate the balance of the plant. This 30-mgd plant project is the largest capital project in the city’s history. During construction, the plant remained operational at all times to treat wastewater while demolitions and renovations were taking place. The City of Ann Arbor Wastewater Treatment Plant project won the 2017 American Society of Civil Engineers Michigan section Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement Award.
