PMA provides professional services for transmission and distribution projects that are part of Eversource’s large capital program under the responsibility of the Electric Operations Division. The PMA Eversource team is currently supporting planning, execution, monitoring, and controlling of a portfolio of more than 120 transmission and distribution projects, as well as a five-year capital expenditure plan of over $1 billion.
PMA’s initial limited consulting has evolved into assuming a lead role in this organization to drive planning, scheduling, cost management, and project management for major Eversource capital projects. PMA has a lead role in developing and maintaining the planning and scheduling system to support the operations of the Project Management, Engineering, and Communications Departments, which are the departments responsible for executing the major capital program. PMA is accountable for overall data integrity and for managing adherence to scheduling standards and project controls. PMA also develops construction schedules and provides oversight of their subsequent integration into Eversource’s centralized master schedule system. In addition, Eversource has realized noticeable improvements in forecasting field labor resources and has been able to optimize resource utilization for substation and transmission and distribution line projects during PMA’s involvement.
PMA supports the Eversource project management team by providing project management services for some of the largest projects in the program. PMA is assisting Eversource senior management and the executive team in developing project budgets, evaluating project alternatives, and controlling actual costs and forecasting expenditures, which have proven essential in supporting Eversource’s capital investment planning and execution.
