This $170 million project is the largest construction project in 45 years for General Dynamics. The 360,000-SF Universal Building expansion for General Dynamics Electric Boat will be used as a hangar to assemble submarines. At the time of construction, this project was the largest construction project in Rhode Island. It consists of two buildings, 125,000 SF and 200,000 SF, respectively, that connect to form one massive structure.
PMA provided scheduling services for this project, including developing a baseline schedule and maintaining the project schedule through monthly project updates. The schedule is fully cost-loaded and used as the basis for monthly progress payments. PMA performed critical path analysis to assess delays, analyze potential risks, and provide detailed reports to the contractor.
