The District Detroit development is comprised of 50 blocks that include the planned addition and redevelopment of businesses, parks, restaurants, residential, and event destinations with the vision to transform Detroit downtown and midtown areas. Initial phases of the development include the new Little Caesars Arena (home of the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Pistons); an eight-story Little Caesars world headquarters; Wayne State University’s Mike Ilitch School of Business; multiple parking areas; retail, office, residential, and hospitality spaces, including four historic buildings; and significant investment in infrastructure improvements.
PMA provided project controls and served as the master scheduling consultant on this mega development. Scheduling scope included responsibility for the overall development and updating, maintaining, and schedule reporting for District Detroit projects. The schedule was instrumental in coordinating the ongoing activities that led up to the opening of the new arena, planning future resource needs, and communicating the plan to the many community stakeholders.
