This $80 million 870,000-SF University of Chicago Medicine (UCM) project includes approximately 1,850 parking spaces and a 63,300-SF shell space to accommodate future institutional occupancy. Project scope on this eight-story structure also includes construction of a bridge to connect the second floor of the parking garage to the adjacent hospital and construction of an underground tunnel to connect the garage to the hospital.
PMA was responsible for project controls, including change order management, process improvements, pay application review, schedule review, cost control, document control, and reporting for the project. PMA developed tools for budget tracking and reporting and change order logs and developed a summary schedule of the contractor’s detailed schedule in NetPoint, which was used for reporting to the project management team. PMA facilitated a series of workshops to plan UCM’s activation for the facility and integrated those activities with the contractor’s schedule.
